Training Program
Wishes and Wags offers private, in-person dog training. We develop customized training plans with our clients and train in the dog's own environment. We love helping pet parents learn how to apply basic dog obedience foundation skills in their daily lives! We also love helping humans understand canine behavior. We want to help dogs with behavior issues improve and live the best life possible with their humans!
The instructor holds two professional dog training certifications. She is certified by the Animal Behavior College (ABCDT) and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA). The instructor believes that education is so important. In addition to her two certifications, she has completed Michael Shikashio's Aggression in Dogs Masters program.
At Wishes and Wags, we believe that one size does not fit all as it relates to training. Regardless of format, our training program can incorporate real life routines and circumstances into the training plans. Certain plans are structured to address the specific and individual needs of the pet parents and their canine family members!

Consultations and Dog Training Packages
Consultations for Dog Obedience Training and Problem Solving
All programs begin with an initial consultation. During the consultation, you and the trainer will discuss your training goals in detail. The trainer will also discuss the key concepts for successful training and problem solving. Training plans are designed together, and the trainer will help choose the package that fits your individual needs!

Consultations for Complex Behaviors
Aggression
There are a number of things that can contribute to and cause aggression. A few of the most common relate to illness, pain, environment, and DNA. In the consultation, the trainer will gather information about your experiences. Aggression cannot be "cured"; however, with training and management techniques, the hope is that great improvement can be made. The journey will take time, love, patience, and compassion. We strive to achieve a happier and healthier life for the dog and the pet parents.
Initial aggression consultations can be conducted in-person or via Zoom. If clients live outside of the Houston area or outside of our in-person travel area boundaries, Zoom consultations can be an effective option!
Canine aggression can be a very emotional and devastating experience for pet parents. One of our passions is helping pet parents understand behavior so they can embark on a positive journey to improve quality of life.
We approach aggression with compassion and positive techniques. We strive to provide hope for aggressive dogs if possible.
Anxiety
Canine anxiety can be caused by many things. Anxiety in shelter and rescue dogs is very common. Certain forms of anxiety, such as separation and isolation anxiety, can result in behavioral issues. In the consultation, the trainer will gather detail information about experiences. Anxiety is a complex issue and unfortunately, cannot be cured. It is often very emotional for pet parents. The journey can be slow and can require a great deal of patience and compassion. We strive to help clients begin their journey.
